Pride of Place Napoleonic Bee Pillow

$175.00

This exquisite Napoleonic hand-embroidered bee pillow is meticulously sewn by master craftsmen who have studied 17th and 18th century fabric and textiles from France and Britain.  Because they understand the rich history and cultural tradition that is inherent in the design, they have been able to fantastically re-create the fabric that brings out the richness and timelessness of the piece.

These 14 inch by 18 inch heirloom pillows in navy and white are fully welted to ensure durability that complements its exquisite composition. The back is 100% solid linen, fastened by two custom, fabric-covered buttons. The hand-embroidered bees give the pillow opulence and a fine-tuned detail ensuring this piece will be passed down from generation to generation.

Napoleon used his love of bees to symbolize his reign as Emperor, realizing that bees never sleep and are therefore always industrious and vigilant— traits he was happy to adopt, even going so far as to commission the sewing of bees onto his coronation robe. This pillow commands a feeling of timelessness and opulence, while still maintaining comfort for decades to come (especially for those who will doubtless want to use this for a beauty nap).
